Among drow usually the man is considered to marry into the woman's clan, but it's not a sure thing. The Sei-Varun, being fairly prosperous, have had a greater-than-usual tendency to sweep the women their men married into the clan, instead of sending the men out.
This gives the Sei-Varun blood ties to families named Morgath, Arelikhah, Nahai, Daithau, Dorai, Astreshe, Liavezhiin, and Nazhanora. Most of these are unimportant small families, but Arelikha, Morgath, and Asetanta have minor prominence, and Nazhanora is a power. Imohara Nazhanora, a contemporary of Amerakhte, apparently joined the Sei-Varun instead of bringing her husband into her own clan, perhaps because she was taken with the Sea.
